ZONY GORDON – American Artist, Community leader

As a first-generation Filipino-American, Zony Gordon embodies the spirit of cultural connection and creativity. Following her sister’s path from the Philippines, Zony came to the United States after college. Here she met her husband and began a new chapter in her life. Her heritage profoundly influences her art, reflecting the traditions of her community.

Zony served two terms as president of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association and is currently a board member, where she engages with local artists and promotes cultural initiatives. She often receives commissions from fellow Filipinos, ensuring that their cultural specifics are honored in her pieces. Artworks of hers are featured at places like the Hyatt Valencia Gallery and the Santa Clarita Artists Association Art Gallery in Newhall. She had a new solo art exhibit, “Symphony of Color, a City of SCV” shown recently at the Old Town Newhall Library.

Her commitment to art education shines through her volunteer efforts at community events like Culture Fest and as a member of an arts scholarship board, helping underfunded high school students pursue their college dreams.

Family traditions hold a special place in Zony’s heart, especially during Christmas. These gatherings are a time of celebration, bringing together relatives from near and far to share their exciting stories. Zony contributes her passion for art with others through her community involvement and aspires to uplift others in the art world. She continues to celebrate her Filipino roots while inspiring others to embrace their cultural identities. All love from the artists of Santa Clarita!
